Bronze Clios Award Winner

ESPN partnered with DC and the NBA to create a playful crossover moment that merged sports culture and pop culture. With Superman “taking the day off,” NBA superstar Jayson Tatum stepped in as an unexpected stand-in, blurring the line between athlete and hero.

Built as a series of 30-second spots airing across broadcast, streaming, and social, the campaign promoted both the NBA Playoffs and the upcoming Superman film.

The campaign earned a Bronze Clio Award for storytelling and drove significant attention to both the playoffs and the film. Following Tatum’s real-world injury, the spot sparked widespread conversation online, fueling debate, engagement, and cultural buzz that ultimately amplified visibility and interest across channels.
